More than a maestra…

CJ Caminiti finds a story in everything she touches: a hymn, a bell choir, a quiet scene that needs a score. As a composer, arranger, and conductor, she brings a dramatic sensibility to every project, shaped by her training in opera at Manhattan School of Music and years spent leading ensembles of every size.

Since 2013, CJ has been in a leader in the worship arts ministry at Calvary Baptist Church in New York City, and she currently directs RingNYC, a celebrated handbell community she's built into one of the city's most distinctive performing ensembles. Her concerts bring together volunteer and professional talent alike, built on the belief that great music-making shouldn't require a velvet rope.

Beyond the podium, CJ arranges and composes original works for handbells, choirs, and chamber ensembles: music built to be sung, rung, and remembered. New commissions are always welcome, especially for the right project. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband David, an artist, where their shared love of the arts extends, unapologetically, to Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and SNL.
